Please RSVP for the Annual Picnic

To kick off the season, we are again hosting the Annual Student Send-Off Picnic. It’s a fun few hours so plan to attend.
When: Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 12:00 p.m.
Where: Snyder Park, Pavilion #15 (change from previous years)
             3299 SW 4th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL
From I-95 take Exit 25 East on State Road 84. Turn right (south) The Park will be on the right.
Cost: $10 members, $20 nonmembers (pay your annual dues at the picnic and pay member price) Children 6 & under are free.   Free for incoming freshman and $5 for returning students.
You will need to pay for parking in the park. There are two kiosks after you enter the park before you veer to the right. Pay at the kiosk and put the receipt on your dash.
Pavilion 15-turn right, go past main office, take 1st left, at stop sign make a quick right then first left. Straight ahead will be Pavilion 15. Our Banner should be hanging.
RSVP: events@psu-ftlauderdale.com by July 29, 2013 so that we have an estimate of the number attending.
Local alumni will again sponsor the Student Send-Off Picnic. This is a great way for alumni to connect with incoming freshmen, current Penn State students, and other local alumni.   During the picnic, alumni and current students share their memorable stories with each other and with incoming freshmen.  This is a wonderful opportunity for freshmen to ask current students or alumni any questions they may have about life at Penn State. This year’s Broward County class is 39 students.  It is also a chance for incoming freshmen to meet other classmates in the Broward County area. Like any picnic, there will be tons of food grilled up for everyone to enjoy. This is one of many events hosted by the local chapter that every one of all ages looks forward to attending each year. See you there.
Please plan to attend to help make this a very successful event!
It’s time to pay 2013-2014 dues.  Membership dues are for the period July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014. Football Watching 
Beginning AUGUST 31, join us each Saturday at the WORLD FAMOUS PARROT LOUNGE, 911 Sunset Lane, Fort Lauderdale, FL (1 block west of A1A, ½ block south of Sunrise Blvd) to watch your Nittany Lions football team. This is South Florida’s Penn State meeting place. Please support this golf tournament sponsor.
