Are you a recent graduate or a not-so-recent graduate? Consider becoming an Alumni Admissions Volunteer and meet and greet local prospective students. Becoming an Alumni Admissions Volunteer is a great way to stay connected to\u00a0Penn<\/span>State<\/span>. Admission Volunteers attend college fairs at local high schools and informational sessions for newly accepted and potential students. At these events the volunteer answers students questions regarding life at\u00a0Penn<\/span>\u00a0State<\/span>, share their experiences, and gives advice The Undergraduate Admissions Office gives brochures to distribute to students.<\/p>\n

There is also a program called LionsROAR (Reaching Out and Recruiting) in which volunteers call newly accepted students to say congratulations on being accepted to\u00a0Penn<\/span>\u00a0State<\/span>. The students may ask the volunteer some questions regarding\u00a0Penn<\/span>State<\/span>\u00a0at this time as well.<\/p>\n

Penn<\/span>\u00a0State<\/span>\u00a0really welcomes their Admission Volunteers living in Florida. Since the university is so far away, a person from\u00a0Penn<\/span>\u00a0State<\/span>\u00a0is unable to attend a local event. A volunteer currently living in the area can represent the school even when a representative from the school is at the event. It helps to have a Floridian add additional information to their presentation.<\/p>\n

As we get ready for the fall recruitment season, there will be a national Alumni Admissions Volunteer Virtual Kick-Off on\u00a0August 11 at 7:00 p.m.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0If you are interested contact Dave Chavira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
The virtual kick-off is a unique opportunity for all of our seasoned and new volunteers to discuss best practices, stay up-to-date with admissions related processes, and meet our new recruitment staff. Some of the event’s topics include:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
