Arrangements for Joe Paterno Announced

Public Viewings Tuesday and Wednesday; “A Memorial For Joe” Set For Thursday in Jordan Center

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; January 23, 2012 – The family of Joe Paterno has completed the funeral arrangements for the legendary Penn State educator, coach and humanitarian, who passed away Sunday, January 22. Two public viewings will be held, as well as a public memorial, “A Memorial For Joe,” on the University Park campus.
A public viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 1:00-11:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 8:00 a.m.-Noon at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, located near the intersection of Curtin Road and Allen Street on campus. Please see below for important parking information for the public viewings.
There will be a private funeral service Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The funeral procession will begin at approximately 3:00 p.m. The procession will leave the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, turn left onto Curtin Road near the Pattee-Paterno Library and travel Curtin Road past Beaver Stadium. The procession will then turn right onto Porter Road and turn right onto College Avenue, heading west through downtown State College. The burial is private.
On Thursday, Jan. 26, a public memorial service, “A Memorial For Joe” will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center, located at the intersection of Curtin Road and University Drive on campus and a ticket will be required for admission. All tickets are free. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. Please see below for important ticket ordering and parking information for the public memorial service.
Demand for tickets to “A Memorial For Joe” was extremely high and tickets are no longer available.
